Trump Accuses States of Voter Fraud After Biden Wins Election; Ignores Coronavirus Numbers

As the election is wrapped up and Joe Biden is the projected President- elect of the United States, Trump will not concede defeat. Instead, he and his campaign have set up court cases alleging that fraud has occurred. Trump is not willing to create a peaceful transition to Biden and he also has nothing to say about the coronavirus numbers, which are at an all-time high.

After losing to Joe Biden by a substantial amount, Donald Trump refuses to admit defeat and is doing everything he can to prove that he won this election. According to David Press (2020), neither the Constitution nor federal law requires losing candidates to concede presidential elections. But it is an unlikely situation that someone who lost the presidency by close margins, would challenge the result through inauguration.

After the electoral votes showed Biden as the projected winner, President Trump went to Twitter to call the election a fraud, and that fraudulent play occurred in this election. On Twitter Trump said his campaign will go to the courts, but his accusations were quickly rejected, as the recount in states proved voter fraud did not occur. Trump would eventually hint at defeat, but not in a presidential manner. He instead went to Twitter to blame voter officials for voter fraud. President Trump, without using Biden’s name, says that “He won” in a tweet that made useless claims and accusations about a “rigged” election. Although he has finally agreed to begin the transition between his administration and Joe Biden, it does not stop him from saying the election was rigged.

While Trump has continued his rant about the ‘rigged election’, many Americans believe his focus should really be on the coronavirus pandemic. The amount of coronavirus cases has risen significantly, and almost 300,000 Americans have died from the virus, and millions have been infected with the virus. Americans are waiting to see what President Trump will do about the virus, but he has completely ignored it and has nothing to say about it.
