The Black History Show was well planned and also well-executed by the MAST Performing Arts Department. While it was entertaining, it was also informative. There was so much to enjoy about the show such as the music, the history of Black Wall Street, and the poem by Sunny. However, what stood out was the incredible dances performed by Ms. Richardson and students. I learned a lot about Black history from the show. I learned that Black people were also Kings and Queens, in addition to being dragged down to become slaves. It was sad to watch the video of what became of the Tulsa Massacre where many Black people were dragged out of their homes, killed like animals, and their infrastructure bombed by planes. The Black History Month Show was celebratory and informative; what a show!
