Why, is the question we all ask
Why are we being treated different because of the color of our skin
Why are we still suffering racism
Why aren’t the police changing
Why are they taking advantage because they can
Why are they killing us for no reason
I fear for my black brothers and sisters
I fear for our future generations
A change must come; not just a temporary change
A change that lasts forever
A change to put an end to all this madness
A change to bring us together

As the cop placed his knee on that Black man's neck
We all know what his intentions were
The cop was recorded
Devastated spectators yelled at him to stop
But he didn’t bother to stop
Although the Black man said “ I can’t breathe”
The cop showed no remorse
He held his knee on the Black man’s neck for so long
The cop took this Black man's life
Was it worth it? …. WAS IT WORTH IT?
Flames and Fires roared through the city
Vandalism and robbery out of pain and frustration
YOU’RE GOING TO HEAR US
YOU’RE GOING TO FEEL OUR PAIN
YOU’RE GOING TO UNDERSTAND US
YOU’RE GOING TO CHANGE
AND WE WILL FIGHT UNTIL THE END
UNTIL WE ARE HEARD
We united all over the country
Protesting until we dropped
Gassed and shot at by the law
All we asked for was for a kneel to the ground
Is it so hard; WHY is it so hard
Do you not care about the loss we took
Not just the recent one, but every loss we took to police brutality
Why is it that you don’t do it to those that are not Black?
You protect your own no matter the circumstance
Shoot a Black man that is unarmed
Tase a White man that is armed and fighting back
WHY?

AHHHHH MAN HERE IS SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT NOW …
Animals, monkey, wild terms we had heard for generations
But it’s clear the world doesn’t get the bigger picture
As they stormed the Capitol, WE wondered how
How did they even make it that far?
There was strong security at the Capitol for the Black Lives Matter protest
But not for the riot
I watch videos of police showing they don’t care
Where was the tear gas and rubber bullets?
Where was the physical and verbal violence?
Where were the arrests?
Think about it… All because of the color of our skin
